The Million Page Challenge is a national program to promote reading for please among young students. The school’s librarian, Elizabeth Krieger, set the challenge for all fifth and sixth-grade students.
Some notable accomplishments include the following:
- Classes with the most pages read: Jamie Walner’s sixth-grade classes read a total of 765,926 pages. Her first period class read the most with a total of 98,449 pages.
- Fifth-grade classes read a total of 222,177 pages. Michelle Lynch’s second period class read the most in the second quarter with a total of 42,869.
- Colin Forster read the most pages in the first quarter of the year 21,565 pages. In the second quarter Sasha Ramdat read the most pages at 20,295.
- The fifth-grade student with the most pages read in both the first and second quarter was Erin Lee. She read 16,249 and 11,702 pages respectively.
